Headway Software Announce Free-To-Open-Source Program for Structure101

Date: March 6th 2008, Santa Clara, California

Headway Software, the company that makes software architecture easy, today announced the free availability of its Structure101 family of products to the Open Source community.

"We want everyone focused on managing and improving their software architecture but you can’t achieve that without a product that is easy to use," said Headway’s CEO, Chris Chedgey. "The Open Source community includes some of the most discerning developers, and we are delighted to already have such high profile projects using Structure101. We really look forward to having many others availing of the benefits and ease of use of Structure101 under this program."

Structure101 is currently in use by the Apache Activemq, Camel, Qpid and Synapse projects, as well as Junit, Opendap, The Grinder and several of the Spring Open Source projects.

"We have been using Structure101 on Junit and are very happy with the way it helps us keep the Junit architecture under control," said David Saff of Junit.

"We have been using Structure101 for more than a year now in both our development and consulting organizations and there is no doubt it has helped us maintain the high quality of our architecture and deliver best-in-class services to our customers," said Adrian Colyer, CTO of SpringSource, the company behind the Spring Portfolio, the leading enterprise Java(tm) application platform.

Colyer further states, "We have deployed the Structure101 Server on SpringSource.com so our clients can better understand the architecture of the various Spring projects as they evolve over time. We would encourage all Open Source projects to do likewise as a clean software architecture is key to a maintainable and extensible code base."
